School Nutrition and Food Services
Jon Dickl has been awarded the Health Promotion Policy Award for 2013 by the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB). SNEB and its Advisory Committee on Public Policy represent the interests nutrition educators across the country and position these leaders to be the preferred providers of food, nutrition and health services.
This award is to recognize the efforts of others to shape and promote policies that promote health. It is given to individuals or groups who have significantly contributed to creating and/or implementing policies or policy-based changes that support and positively impact the food and physical activity environment.
Jon served 2 years as Tennessee School Nutrition Association (TSNA) Treasurer and completed his term in June of 2012. He is also looking forward to becoming the incoming Vice President of TSNA and will be sworn in June 2013 (will serve as Pres-elect in 2014, and President beginning June of 2015). Currently Jon serves on the Education Committee for the School Nutrition Association (SNA), National Organization, and Program Chair for Annual National Conference in Kansas City, MO and will be sworn in as Southeast Regional Director, acting as the liaison between the national organization and the Southeast state chapters (FL, GA, TN, KY, MS, NC, SC, AL, and VA) and will serve a 2 year term.
